Method 1: App-Guided Setup (Recommended)
Using the official setup app or installer is the fastest and most reliable way to get your EcoTank printer printing wirelessly.
Step 1 – Fill the Ink Tanks
- Open the ink tank cover on the front of the printer
- Twist off the cap of each ink bottle matching the tank color
- Fill each tank to the upper fill line — do not overfill
- Replace the tank caps firmly and close the ink tank cover
- Connect the power cable and press the Power button — initial ink charging takes about 10 minutes
Step 2 – Download the Driver or Smart Panel App
Visit epson.com/support, search your EcoTank model, and download the full driver package for Windows or Mac. On mobile, search "Epson Smart Panel" in the App Store or Google Play.
Step 3 – Run the Installer
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen prompts
- When asked for connection type, select Wi-Fi Setup
- If using the Smart Panel app on mobile, tap Set Up Printer and follow the guided steps
- Keep the printer powered on and near your router
Step 4 – Connect to WiFi
- The installer will list available WiFi networks — select your 2.4GHz network
- Enter your WiFi password when prompted
- The WiFi indicator light will turn solid blue when connected
- On models with a screen, navigate to Settings → Wi-Fi Setup → Wi-Fi Setup Wizard to connect manually
Step 5 – Print a Nozzle Check
After setup, print a nozzle check pattern from Maintenance → Nozzle Check in the printer driver. All lines should be complete and unbroken. If any lines are missing, run a head cleaning cycle.
Method 2: WPS Button Setup
EcoTank printers support WPS for quick, password-free WiFi connection via your router's WPS button.
- On the EcoTank, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the WiFi light flashes (about 3 seconds).
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
- The WiFi light will stop flashing and stay solid — the printer is connected.
- On Windows: go to Settings → Printers & scanners → Add device and select your EcoTank.
- On Mac: go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners → + and add via AirPrint or install the full driver.
Troubleshooting EcoTank Setup Issues
EcoTank: Ink charge taking too long
- The initial ink charge takes 10–15 minutes — this is completely normal for EcoTank printers
- Do not turn off the printer during the initial charge as it may damage the print head
- If the Power light is still flashing after 20 minutes, contact official support
EcoTank: Printer offline after WiFi setup
- Set the EcoTank as your Default Printer in system settings
- Uncheck Use Printer Offline if it appears in the Printer menu (Windows)
- Restart your router and then the printer
- Re-run the network setup from the printer's Settings menu
EcoTank: Streaky or faded prints after first setup
- Run a Nozzle Check from Maintenance settings in the driver
- If nozzles are clogged, run one or two Head Cleaning cycles
- Print a test page to verify — full EcoTank ink levels ensure best first-print quality
